Place an Interlibrary Loan:

Look up a title in the library's catalog.  If we don't have it, select "Other Libraries and Collections" at the top right corner of the page.

Below "Libraries Outside of BLC" select All MnPALS Libraries.

Conduct your search again.

When you locate the record that you need, select it, then click on the ILL request link in the blue bar.

You will need to log in with your card number (202190000####) and password (your last name).

Click on the blue ILL area again.

The information for your item will be filled in for you.  You will need to:

  • Verify that it is the correct title.
  • Notice that the "Not Needed After" area is filled in for you.  We recommend you leave the +30 in that box.
  • Read the copyright and agree to it.
  • Select "Go"

Another screen will pop up.  The information is again presented to you and you are given the option to cancel request or print.  If you would like a paper copy, print then close the dialogue box.

Remember it can take 2 weeks or longer to receive your materials, so plan ahead!

If we do not have a book or article that you need, you may also fill out an interlibrary loan form .  You will see options for a Journal or a Book.  Select the appropriate format and fill in as much information as you can.
When searching in EBSCOhost you will also see a link labeled, "Order via interlibrary loan" when full text coverage isn't available.  Simply fill in your library card number, password, copyright agreement, not needed after date and complete the request.
