What Is My Borrowing Record and What Can I Do With It?

Your Borrowing Record is located on the top-right blue bar in the library's catalog.

Once you've selected it, you will be asked for your library card number (it's on the back of your student id and starts out: 202190000****) and your password (your last name).

You are searching: Bethany Library Cat

Please identify yourself:

User ID/Barcode: (14 digit number from Student/Library ID card)
Password: (Usually Last Name)
Cancel

The next page you are brought to is your borrowing record.  The green bar going across the top of your screen has some features you should be aware of:

  • Message - we do not currently use this feature
  • Blocks - this area will tell you why your card is not working - it could be from overdue books or excessive fines
  • Interlibrary Loan - brings up the request form - you can fill it in right here!
  • Password - if you do not want your last name as your password, you can change it here

On the left-hand side of your screen you will see yellow boxes with numbers in orange.  The numbers are links to:

  • Loans -  the items you currently have checked out.  You can see the due date and time in the middle of the screen.  If you have any fines you will also see those in this area.  If you would like to renew your book, select the orange number and you can either renew all of your books, or you can check the boxes and renew selected items.
  • Loan History List -  if you need to recall the name of a book you've used recently you can look at this area.  These are occassionally cleaned out, so there may not be any information available, but it's worth a look.
  • Hold Requests - If you place a hold on an item that is currently checked out, you can verify that your request went through by clicking on this link.
  • ILL Total Requests - Shows the items that you're requested from other libraries and their status.
  • Active Requests - Items that you've requested that are being processed.  That means they're being looked for in other libraries and when they're found they will be sent here.

You'll notice an address section towards the bottom of the screen.  If this is inaccurate, please contact Erin at x874.
